Abstract

1349773 Printing W KORESKA 23 June 1971 [23 June 1970] 29494/71 Heading B6C In a copying process a latent image is formed on a copy sheet by writing or similar pressure and subsequently made visible by a chemical reaction produced by heating, the heating being effected by the action of a dielectric high frequency field, the frequency being such that the polarity of the field is altering several million times a second. In one example given, the under faces of the uppermost and intermediate sheets of a number of superposed sheets have a layer of methyl gallate in a vinyl resin binder and the upper faces of the intermediate sheets and the lowermost sheets have thereon a waxy layer of iron stearate in ozocerite. During writing on the uppermost sheet, the layers coact to form latent images on the copy sheets which are developed by heating the assembly of sheets as set out above. The assembly of sheets, which may be in zig-zag folded form, may be moved through the high frequency field so as to prevent overheating by standing waves. The electrodes may be in the form of rods disposed transversely to and under a conveyer belt of a low loss plastics material, e.g. a polyester.
