Abstract

1349688 Electric motors MAQUINAS DE COSER ALFA SA 11 May 1971 [31 July 1970] 14243/71 Heading H2A A fractional horse-power motor, e.g. for driving a sewing machine, has a stator and rotor totally enclosed by a plastics easing of generally parallelepipedic shape divided longitudinally into two separable interfitting parts 1, 6, all the mechanical and electrical components of the motor being fitted to the part 6 whilst the other part 1 constitutes a cover and the rotor having spherically seating barrel bearings held in recesses in the part 6. As shown, the motor has a laminated stator which is fixed to part 6 by rods 15 extending through the laminations and secured at their ends by screws. The rotor bearings 20, Fig. 8, are retained in recesses in supports by part-seats 21 clamped to the supports by strips 11. Brush-holders each consisting of a metal tube, Fig. 7, receiving a brush 18 and spring 17 are fixed to pillars in the casing part 6 by screws. Casing part 6 also carries a terminal block 14 accessible to a connector plug through an opening in the cover 1. Ventilation slots (3) are provided in the cover.
