Abstract

1349337 Spinal measurements H U DEBRUNNER 30 Jan 1973 [18 Feb 1972] 4602/73 Heading ASK [Also in Division G1] A device for measuring the angle of kyphosis of the human spinal column comprises an indicator 6 and a scale 5 which are connected respectively by separate parallelogram linkages 3 to associated probe members 1. Each probe member 1 has a contact surface 2a provided with a depression 2b and the spacing of the pivotal axes of each parallelogram linkage 3 is such that the angular position of the contact surface of one probe member 1 relative to that of the other is directly indicated by the indicator 6 on the scale 5. The scale 5 is angularly calibrated and provided with a central zero.
