1349283 Mono-azo dyestuffs free from acid water-solubilizing groups CIBA GEIGY AG 14 July 1971 [15 July 1970] 33071/71 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs of the formula wherein D is the radical of a diazo component, A is an optionally substituted p-phenylene radical, R 1 is H or an optionally substituted alkyl radical, R 2 is an alkylene group optionally halogen-substituted and optionally containing a chain oxygen atom; X is -NH- or -N(alkyl)-; and Y is a halogen-free, heterocyclic, six-membered ring that contains at least 2 ring N atoms and at least one alkoxy group and optionally has fused thereto at least one aromatic ring are prepared by diazotizing an amine DNH 2 and coupling the product with a coupling component H-A-NR 1 -R 2 -X-Y or by condensing a dyestuff of the formula D-N=N-A-NR 1 -R 2 -XH with a monohalogen o-heterocycle Yhal. Oxidative coupling using hydrazones or azosulphones can be utilized where suitable. Products containing amino groups may be quaternized.
