Abstract

1351385 Fibre-reactive azo dyestuffs containing halotriazine substituents IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 11 Feb 1972 [1 March 1971] 5669/71 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs of the formula (wherein A is a radical of the naphthalene series or a mono- or di-cyclic radical of the benzene series; n is zero, 1 or 2; M is an optionally substituted 1,4-phenylene or 1,4-naphthylene radical and the two M values may be different when n is 2; and X is an s-triazine radical containing at least one cellulose-reactive Cl or Br substituent) are prepared from the corresponding dyestuffs containing -NH 2 in place of -NHX (themselves prepared by diazotization and coupling methods) and halo-triazines. In the products one of the two remaining halogen atoms in the triazine ring may subsequently be replaced by another substituent, e.g. an amino group which itself may be substituted. This substituted amino group may itself be the residue of a coloured amine, e.g. the radical of an aminoazo compound, aminoanthraquinone or aminophthalocyanine. Thus there may be prepared products containing 2 radicals of the novel dyestuffs and having for example the Formula wherein either V<SP>2</SP> is an aromatic or aliphatic bridging radical and R<SP>5</SP> and R<SP>6</SP> are each H or alkyl, which may be substituted, or V<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>5</SP> and R<SP>6</SP> together with the two N atoms form a heterocyclic ring. The novel dyestuffs are used for the coloration of cellulose textile materials to which they generally impart orange or reddish-brown shades.
