1348977 Disperse disazo dyes IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 28 April 1971 [5 June 1970] 27308/70 Addition to 1275730 Heading C4P New water-insoluble disazo dyes, free from COOH and SO 3 H groups, of formula wherein A is an optionally substituted aryl, anthraquinonyl or heterocyclic radical, B is an optionally substituted phenylene, naphthylene or radical, T<SP>4</SP> and T<SP>5</SP> are each H or optionally substituted C 1-4 alkyl and Z<SP>2</SP> is an optionally substituted C 1-4 alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical are prepared by coupling a diazonium compound of the aminoazo dye A-N = N-B-NH 2 with an appropriate hydroxy-pyridone. The dyes are used to colour synthetic fibres, in particular polyester fibres in red and blue shades.
