Abstract

1348772 Stencilling; hand stamps C J A CARABOTT and J S ROSS 21 May 1971 [27 Feb 1970 14 April 1970 25 July 1970 29 Oct 1970 19 Jan 1971] 9644/70 17703/70 36159/70 51556/70 and 2451/71 Headings B6D and B6C A stencil stamp comprises a base A1, an ink absorbent pad C carried by the base, an ink reservoir T1 formed in or carried by the base and arranged to supply ink to the pad and a frame D2 to which a stencil B1 is secured, the frame being such that it may be positioned around the edge of the base with the stencil being held against the pad by the viscosity of the ink, the frame then being held in position around the base by virtue of its attachment to the stencil. A silk screen B may be interposed between the pad and stencil. Handle O may be provided with a cover V, removable for the purpose of filling the tank T1 and the handle with ink. An air bleed passage may be provided in a plug U secured to the cover V. An ejector may be provided for ejecting the frame and stencil from the base. Collapsible buffers may protrude downwardly from the base to space the stencil from the surface to be marked until pressure is applied. The stamp may be adapted to carry a plurality of individually replaceable stencil frames.
