Abstract

1348506 Discharging arrangement for hydrocyclones K A SKARDAL 19 April 1971 [12 March 1970] 23487/71 Heading B2P An arrangement for controlling the volume of a heavy bottom fraction discharged from a vortex type separator treating cellulose fibre slurries comprises a discharge chamber 5 disposed underneath a bottom fraction outlet 3 of the separator 1 and provided with an outlet port 7 located in the circumferential wall of the chamber and/or in the bottom thereof adjacent the circumferential wall, the chamber 5 being displaceable relative to the bottom fraction outlet 3, in a direction (arrow 9) substantially perpendicular to the axis 14 of symmetry of the outlet 3. The discharge chamber body 6 is mounted on the lower side of a bottom flange 4 of the separator by means of a yoke 11 and a clamping screw 12. Displacement of the chamber body 6 is effected by means of an adjustment screw 15 which is screwed into a threaded bore 16 in the body 6 and is rotatably mounted in a bracket arm 17 attached to the yoke 11. In a modification the discharge chamber is conical instead of cylindrical.
