Abstract
1348301 Air filter element TRI-DIM FILTER CORP 19 April 1971 [3 March 1970] 24962/71 Heading BIT An air filter element comprises a length of fibrous felted filtering material, typically polyester, divided into integral panels by transversely extending pairs of gold lines 30, each panel being reinforced by a rectangular wire frame 26 extending adjacent to its periphery. The element is folded for storage and opened out flat in use (Fig. 1) in a ventilation circuit. In Fig. 3 the material is of two plies, and frames 26 are located between the plies and totaly enclosed by the heat sealed gold lines 30 and longitudinal heat seal lines (32). In Figs. 4, 5 (not shown) the frames lie on the outside face of the filtering material and are secured by overlying lengths of filtering material tape, heat sealed to the panels or stapled (Fig. 6, not shown). In Fig. 7 (not shown) the tape is folded round the frames and heat sealed to the panels. In Fig. 8 (not shown) the frames are secured by adhesive along heat seal lines round the panels. Frames 26 incorporate central cross-wires (28) to support the panels.
