Abstract

1348264 Pouring gate lining bricks K H ODERMATH 11 May 1971 [16 May 1970] 14218/71 Heading B3F [Also in Division F4] A shaped brick of refractory material, comprises a brick of elongate parallelepiped form with plane, longitudinally extending side surfaces and having a plurality of elongate internal cavities extending parallel to said side surfaces and transversely to the longitudinal direction thereof, and a filling of heat insulating material 6 in powder form in the cavities. The powder is prevented from falling out of the cavities by a cover 7. It is possible for the cavities to extend through the entire width of the brick, the cavities being closed off by means of coverings 7 which are then provided on both sides. The cavities preferably form a honeycomb formation.
