Abstract

1348259 Dioxinoquinoline derivatives LABORATOIRE ROGER BELLON 5 Aug 1971 [5 Aug 1970] 30374/73 Divided out of 1348258 Addition to 1283900 Heading C2C The compounds I in which R is 1-4 C alkyl and their salts are prepared by hydrolysis and saponification of compounds II in which R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are 1-4 C alkyl or NR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>11</SP> is a 5-6 membered heterocyclic ring and X- is a halide ion or the anion of an esterifiable acid. The compounds II are prepared in a similar manner to that shown in Specification 1,348,258. Pharmaceutical compositions having antibacterial activity comprise a compound I when prepared by the above process and a diluent or carrier therefor.
