Abstract

1348138 Photo-conductive layer XEROX CORP 29 Nov 1971 [1 Dec 1970] 55318/71 Headings G2C C17D1 and C17C5 A photo-conductive layer comprises a mixture of finely divided particles of at least two photoconductive pigments, the mixture being capable of generating holes in response to imagewise radiation, dispersed in an active matrix binder, the binder being capable of transporting holes injected from the pigments during exposure. In the embodiments a mixture of CdSSe, phthalocyanine and Se dispersed in polyvinylcarbazole as the binder is formed on an aluminium substrate. Other substrates and photo-conductive pigments are specified while the binder may be a polymer based on substituted pyrenes, or monomeric substances such as carbazoles, pyrenes, anthraquinone, dibenzothiophene, fluorenone, triphenylene, 2-phenyl indole and fused ring aromatic compounds.
