Abstract
1347858 Allyl acetate FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 27 July 1971 [31 July 1970] 35126/71 Heading C2C Allyl acetate is prepared by heating acetic acid, propylene and oxygen in the gaseous phase in the presence of carbon dioxide and a noble metal or noble metal catalyst. The propylene concentration of the reaction gas is below 50% and 0À2 to 5À0 fold amount of propane is present. A temperature of 140‹ to 250‹ C. and 1 to 10 atmospheres pressure is used and platinum, palladium, ruthenium, rhodium, iridium and osmium may be the noble metal. Cadmium, gold, bismuth, copper and manganese, and alkali or alkaline earth metal salts may be present. Silicic acid, aluminium oxide or aluminium silicate may be the support.
