Abstract

1347708 Discharging articles from a hopper C R FOX 2 June 1972 [11 June 1971] 27481/71 Heading B8S Articles, e.g. caps or buttons, in a hopper are stirred to drive them into slots or channels which communicate with a discharge shoot. As shown a hopper 24 is tilted to the vertical so that caps fall by gravity on to stirring device 26, the springy blades 42 of which drive them into dovetailed slots 50 which ensure the correct orientation. The caps then drop into arcuate channel 52 and thence into a shoot formed by a closed slideway. The apparatus delivers caps one by one to an anvil of a punch for cap and rivet connections on leather articles.
