Abstract

1345938 enzodiazepines SCHERICO Ltd 5 Aug 1971 [7 Aug 1970] 36861/71 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (X=halogen, CF 3 , NO 2 ; Y=H, halogen, CF 3 , NO 2 , OH, C 1-6 saturated hydrocarbyl or hydrocarbyloxy; R=C 1-6 polyfluoro-(saturated hydrocarbyl); R 1 = H, C 1-6 saturated hydrocarbyl, their 4-oxides and salts thereof are prepared by reacting the corresponding benzodiaxepin-2-one with a thiating agent, optionally followed by conversion to the 4-oxide and/or salt formation. The above compounds are sedative-hypnotics, tranquillizers, anti-anxiety agents and anticonvulsants, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them, with or without other (unspecified) active ingredients, in association with a carrier.
