Abstract

1345857 Knitting-machines; thread feed SOBREVIN SOC DE BREVETS INDUSTRIELS ETABS 19 Oct 1972 [26 Feb 1972] 48251/72 Heading D1C A thread feeder in which thread is supplied to a support by a lead 14 includes a cap 4, having a skirt 17 over which the thread is withdrawn. The coil support comprises a drum, or four rods 8-11. In the embodiment shown the lead 14 is secured in the base of the cap, which is rotated by motor 1. A cam face 15 pushes the coils of thread up the rods. The thread is braked by brushes 18 on an adjustable ring 19. The cap may be of transparent material. In an alternative embodiment used with the axis horizontal only the lead and cam rotate. The cap, mounted on the drive shaft by a bearing, is weighted to keep it stationary.
