Abstract
1345503 Displays SCHEIDT & BACHMANN GmbH 7 July 1972 [21 Sept 1971] 31972/72 Heading G4H A digit display in which each digit is formed from a selection from among 7 illuminated bars, has an arrangement for testing the top and centre horizontal bars. As disclosed, BCD digits at A 1 -D 1 ... A n -D n are converted to 7- element form at 12 1 ... 12 n to control such digit displays at 11 1 ... 11 n . Actuation of a test button at 105 causes display of "1" at each position, via a signal at 106, and if the test (see below) is successful, subsequent display of "2" at each position, via a signal at 107, another test being performed (see below). If either test shows error, display is inhibited by a signal from 108. The tests for "1" are done by logic circuits L 11 ... L 1n and AND gate 103, and the tests for "2" are done by logic circuits L 21 ... L 2n and AND gate 104. Each of these "logic circuits" ANDs a recognition of "1" or "2" (as the case may be) at the input with the AND or the NOR (respectively) of the signals controlling de-energization of the top and centre horizontal bars.
