Abstract
1345344 Spray-drying GOSUDARSTVENNY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT STROITELNOI KERAMIKI NIISTROIKERAMIKA 22 Nov 1971 54085/71 Heading B1B A suspension of solid particles in a liquid, such as a ceramic suspension, is dried by spraying it under pressure into hot gas flowing through chamber 1, the suspension being sprayed through nozzles 10 each of which is attached to the end of a pipe 9 co-axially supported in a guide tube 8 which is bent along an arc of a circle and is rigidly secured to the walls 2 of the drying chamber. Hot gases are introduced into the chamber through apertures 6; and exhausted gases are vented through pipe 7. The required dry powder is discharged from the chamber through opening 5. Tubes 8 are secured to the walls 2 of the chamber by angle bars 11 which are welded to the walls and to the tubes. Each nozzle 10 is held to its guide tube 8 by a coupling nut 12. The pipes 9 are connected to a liquid-supply manifold by nuts 16.
