Abstract
951,707. Liquid supply ; crop sprayers. H. METTAUER. March 21, 1962, No. 10883/62. Heading B2F. [Also in Division F2] In the operation of an apparatus for cleaning the flue gas side parts of boilers, the inner space of a container 4 between a water distributing device 6 and filters 15, 16 on discharge pipes 13, 14 is at least partially filled with a pulverant or granular water-soluble strongly alkaline substance, and water under pressure, which may be heated in a heater 5, is fed to the distributing device 6 from whence it passes through the alkaline substance and a saturated solution is formed which is subjected to the pressure of the air cushion formed in the upper portion of the container. The solution is fed through filters 15, 16, pipes 17, 18 to spray nozzles 21, 22. There may be more than one inlet and one or more outlets. The distributing device 6 may be a circular tube with a plurality of apertures 7 or a flat hollow disc shaped form, or the container may have a double bottom forming a water chamber with flow apertures in the upper part thereof. Spraying devices 19. 20 may have an extensible intermediate member between the nozzles 21, 22 and their control valves so that treatment of the boiler may be carried out during firing. The composition of the alkaline solution is described. The alkaline substance is introduced to the container through an aperture 11.
