Abstract

1344995 Artificial stone blocks DYTAP CONSTRUCTION HOLDINGS Ltd 27 Oct 1971 [2 Nov 1970] 52013/70 Heading B5 [Also in Divisions E1-E2] Masonry blocks, particularly for revetments comprise natural stone members 1 set in concrete 2 and projecting from the front face of the concrete. Interlocking formations 3 and 4 may be of V- or U-section. Edge, corner and half blocks and sets of inter-related blocks are disclosed. Some of the edge faces of the blocks may be chamferred for use where a slope meets a horizontal surface. The blocks are manufactured by casting concrete into moulds defined by intersecting steel or plastics strips B1, B2 and A1 and then pressing in pieces of stone by hand. The strips interlock at junctions by means of half-depth notches. The strips are lifted off for further use while the concrete is still green.
