Abstract
1344914 Load transfer devices SILOPARK BREVETTI SA 28 May 1971 17768/71 Heading B8E A device for transferring a load carrying platform 4 between a transport compartment 3 movable in a shaft 1 and one of a plurality of parking cells 2 adjacent the shaft comprises a pair of crank mechanisms 6, 6<SP>1</SP> on the compartment 3 and each having two equally long crank arms 7 on the end of each of which a roller 8, 8<SP>1</SP> is provided to engage a slot 5 on the underside of the platform 4, the centre of rotation 9 of each crank mechanism being displaceable in the direction of platform displacement. Each crank arm 7 is rotatable about an axis 9 by a chain and sprocket arrangement 14, 12, 13, the arm being mounted on a rocking lever 10 pivotable about an axis 11 on the compartment 3 by a crank pin and slot arrangement 19, 20, 21. The crank pin 20 is carried by a sprocket 18 drivable through a chain 17 from a sprocket 15 secured to the sprocket 13, the sprocket 18 rotating at half the speed of the crank arm sprocket 12. Both mechanisms 6, 6<SP>1</SP> are driven by a motor 25 through gearing 22, 23, 24. In operation, with the platform 4 in the compartment 3, the crank mechanisms are driven and the rollers 8 slide along the platform slots 5 during rotation of the cam 7 through 180 degrees, displacing the platform 4 into a cell 2. During this motion, the levers 10 are moved towards the cell by rotation of the sprocket 18 through 90 degrees, to finally position the platform, whereafter upon further crank rotation the rollers 8 disengage from the slots 5 and move into their initial positions. The sequence is reversed to move a platform from the cell to the compartment. In the embodiment of Figs. 15-16 (not shown) the rocking levers are replaced by a system wherein the whole crank mechanism is mounted on a beam slideable towards and away from the cells through a further crank mechanism.
