134,421. Nolan, F. A. Dec. 23, 1918. Soles.-Resilient soles are secured at the waist by a strip of reinforcing material which affords a hold for nails &c. A rubber &c. sole A, Fig. 6, is thinned at the waist and housed in a flexible strip E of fabric or metal which completely covers the end. This housing affords a secure hold for nails &c. G. In a modification, Fig. 3, the sole J is continuous from toe to heel, but is reinforced internally at the waist by a strip I which affords a similar hold for nails N.
