Abstract

1343783 Discharging shoots W R GRACE & CO 15 Dec 1971 [21 Dec 1970] 61321/70 Headings B8A and B8S A mechanism for feeding container closures 2 to a lining station comprises a pair of feed-pins 6 resiliently supported by springs 12 on a plate 13 which is secured to a reciprocating assembly 14. One portion 14b is slidable within a trunnion block 16 and a portion 14a is integral with an outer member 20 of an eccentric driven by a shaft 23. A work-table 1 has slots 37 for the pins 6, and an arm 7, 8 for frictionally engaging the closures is urged upwardly by a spring 10. In operation the pins 6 follow a closed loop path 25 and closures from a shoot 3 are fed to a turret 4 which indexes the closures to a lining station. The pins are adjustable and the throw of the eccentric drive may be adjusted. In Fig. 2 two separate feed mechanisms are driven from a common shaft 23 supported in bearings 32-34.
