Abstract

1343506 Greases SUN OIL CO 20 Dec 1971 [21 Dec 1970 (3)] 59108/71 Heading C5F Lithium, calcium and sodium base greases are prepared without milling or cleaning by saponifying a hydroxy fatty material (e.g. hydroxystearic acid or hydrogenated castor oil) with the base in the presence of at least a portion of the ultimate lubricating oil base, heating to a maximum temperature which is dependentu pon the aniline point of the oil and is defined in Figs. 2, 4 and 6 (not shown), cooling and adding any additional lubricating oil.
