Abstract

1343269 Load responsive braking systems DBA SA 23 Oct 1972 [18 Nov 1971] 48793/72 Heading F2F A brake pressure limiting device which may be responsive to vehicle load comprises in a housing 10 chambers 12, 14 and a valve member 20 of ferromagnetic material and with a sealing ring 22 engageable with a valve seat 23 against the action of a spring 26, the housing also containing a coil 34 to which is applied a voltage proportional to the loading of the vehicle so that the braking pressure is controlled and limited by the valve. In a modification Fig. 2, the coil 34 is replaced by a permanent magnet 42 the device in this case limiting braking pressure but not being load responsive.
