Abstract
1343159 Making dynamo-electric machine coils ISKRA-ZAVOD ZA AVTOMATIZACIJO 19 April 1971 [20 March 1970] 25575/71 Heading B3A [Also in Division H2] An electric coil for a starter motor is wound from a metal strip or ribbon, a surface of which has been coated with adhesive lacquer and sprinkled with uniformly-sized rigid particles of insulating material. The particles serve to space the turns while the coil is subsequently being sheathed and impregnated by a thermoplastics or duroplastics material. The rigid particles may be quartz, corundum or ceramics. The sheathing material may be an epoxy resin, polyamide, pentone or P.T.F.E. and is applied by electrically heating the coil and then either sprinkling it with the sheathing material or immersing it in powdery particles of the material. The coil is secured against unwinding before the sheathing process either by tying or (Fig. 3) by passing a heating current through the last turn to anneal it. The coil is bent after sheathing into an arcuate shape (Fig. 6, not shown).
