Abstract
1343130 Liquid level indicator A C FISH 2 Feb 1972 [2 Feb 1971] 3661/71 Heading G1H [Also in Division H1] In a liquid level indicating system an annular float 10 freely slidable along a tube 12, secured to a tank 10 bottom, open at the top and containing a plurality of reed switches 13, 13a, 14 and 15 actuated by a magnet 11a attached to the float 11 the arrangement is such that when the float 11 reaches the appropriate level one of the switches 13, 13a, 14 or 15 is actuated to illuminate one or other of different colour lights 18, 19, 20 or 21. A press button 22 on manual operation will extinguish light 19 and illuminate light 20 if the appropriate action has been taken. A filling alarm indicator, Fig.3 (not shown), may be provided to warn an operator against overfilling the tank. In an alternative embodiment, Fig.4 (not shown), a flexible tube surrounded by a slidable float and internally provided with reed switches has an anchoring block with a magnet at its lower end for securing to the bottom of the tank 10 thereupon the tube can be drawn taut and vertical.
