Abstract

134,235. Bulla, M. B. Dec. 6, 1917. Track apparatus for stopping trains.-The brake valve 41 and the throttle valve are operated pneumatically when fluid pressure is admitted to the pipe 47 through the valve 38, which is normally kept closed by the magnet 33. This magnet is in a circuit in series with the relay 34 and the armature of this relay. When a danger condition exists, the shoe 30 is earthed, the relay 34 and magnet 33 are shunted, and the valve 38 is opened by the spring 39. The apparatus is reset by moving the switch 63 to the contacts 75.
