Abstract

1341732 Trolleys POST OFFICE 23 June 1972 [24 March 1971] 7710/71 Headings B7B and B7H A hand or motor driven trolley, especially for moving cylindrical objects such as cable drums comprises units 1, 2 interconnected by a tie bar 3, each unit comprising a transport roller 22 or 23 and a drive roller 20 which bears against the rim 24 of the drum. A drive shaft 5 driven by a handle 11 or a motor (not shown) drives a shaft 4 which by gears 12, 13 drives gears 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 through a speed reducer 14. The gear 19 drives rollers through a gear 21. The units are manoeuvred into position with the aid of a handle bar 25 and wheels 9, 10. The transport and drive rollers may be in the form of wheels, discs, cylinders. By providing a second pair of units adjacent the opposite rim and differentially driving the drum a means of steering is provided.
