Abstract

1341695 Clips BRITISH LEYLAND TRUCK & BUS DIVISION Ltd 19 April 1971 [30 Jan 1970] 4577/70 Heading E2B A plastics clip comprises a portion 1 from which extend resilient pegs 2a and 2b engageable in apertures in a support 4, two portions 7a and 7b are. connected to the portion 1 by webs 8a and 8b, the portions having a gap between them which is aligned with a socket portion 5 extending from the portion 1 adjacent edges of panels 11, 12 abut lugs 10a and 10b on the ends of the portions 7a and 7b and a finishing mould 6 has a cylindrical portion 6a, which fits in the resilient socket portion 5, and a facing portion 6b which covers the gap between the panels. The pegs 2a and 2b have grooves 13 to provide resilience. Alternatively the clip may have a separate metal member with parts engaging the portion 1 and in the support 4. The lugs 10a and 10b may be bent over to enclose the ends of the panels 11, 12. A passenger service vehicle may have the interior trim panels secured to apertured uprights of the vehicle body by the clips and finishing moulds.
