1341195 Conveying liquids and solids CANTERBURY PRECISION ENGS Ltd 19 April 1971 [4 April 1970] 16059/70 Heading FIR [Also in Division B8] Liquids, powders or particulate materials are withdrawn from a container 1 along a duct 3 solely by the action of a jet of pressurised fluid issuing from a pipe 4 which creates a vacuum in the vicinity of the end 8 of the duct to initially raise the material so that it then becomes entrained in the jet of fluid and is subsequently conveyed along the duct 3 enclusively by the fluid, to a hopper 11. The hopper has a level indicator 15 arranged to control a valve 19 in the pipe 4 and a pipe 14 to vent the conveying fluid or recirculate the same to the pipe 4.
