Abstract

134,117. Seath, J. F. Dec. 31, 1918. Studs detachably applied.-A metal stud 7, Fig. 6, is provided with a screw-threaded shank 6 which engages a, screw B, Fig. 9. The part 6 of the stud is accommodated in a cylindrical metal socket A countersunk into the sole or heel of a boot. The socket A has strips cut out of its sides which, when bent back, serve as prongs 2 to hold the socket in place. The screw B has an enlarged head which is held by the socket and is prevented from turning. The stud 7, Fig. 6, has notches 9 which engage the ends of the socket and prevent the stud from turning when it is screwed home. In a modification, Fig. 10, the stud has a metal inset 10 and a fibre or rubber body 11.
