Abstract

1340940 Raised pile fabrics NAIRN-WILLIAMSON Ltd 25 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 17016/71 Heading D1K A raised pile fabric is given a sculptured effect by applying bonding agent to areas of the under surface of the base fabric before subjecting the other side to a raising operation. The bonding agent which may be an aqueous dispersion of a polymer, e.g. an acrylic polymer may be printed onto the underside of the base fabric. The yarns to be raised may be acrylic staple fibre and be woven as a loop pile before being raised. The base fabric may be treated with a raise-assisting agent. or a lubricant before being raised.
