1340748 Pyridazone derivatives BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 12 May 1971 [13 May 1970] 14380/71 Heading C2C Novel substituted pyridazones of the general formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> is phenyl or (C 5 -C 8 ) cycloalkyl which may be substituted by methyl, CF 3 , F, Cl or Br; R<SP>2</SP> is Cl, Br or I; R<SP>3</SP> is -COOR<SP>4</SP>, -COSR<SP>4</SP> or -COO<SP>(-)</SP>X<SP>(+)</SP> wherein R<SP>4</SP> is H, phenyl, cyclohexyl (which may be substituted ethynyl) or (C 1 -C 18 ) alkyl or alkenyl (which may be substituted by methoxy, ethoxy, halogen by or dialkylamino), X<SP>(+)</SP> is a cation and n is an integer from 3 to 10, are prepared by reacting a 4-aminopyridazone derivative with an alkanedicarboxylic acid dihalide and either hydrolysing the 4-amido-acid halide thus obtained optionally with subsequent neutralization by means of a base, or reacting the 4-amino-acid halide with an alcohol, phenol or thiocompound and optionally neutralizing the basic compound formed when the alcohol is an amino-alcohol by means of an acid or freeing the said basic compound from its salt by reaction with a base. The novel compounds possess herbicidal properties.
