Abstract

1340636 Floor mats J J NAPPI 17 Jan 1972 2182/72 Heading A4S [Also in Division B5] An adhesive dirt-removing mat comprises a stack of laminated sheets 20, each of which comprises a flexible film 30 supporting a pressure-sensitive adhesive tread layer 34 which is preferably reinforced by a fibrous web 32, the film forming a barrier to the penetration of adhesive from an underlying sheet and being effective to permit separation of the sheet from the stack after use and to prevent relative movement between superposed sheets. The stack may be mounted on the base 16 of an aluminium frame 14, or may be mounted on a flat board of greater area. The bottom sheet 18 has its underlying face 24 coated with highly tacky adhesive to ensure adhesion to the base. Each adhesive surface may be provided with a tab 42 folded to provide a gripping portion 44 and thus to assist removal of the sheet. The film 30 may be of polyethylene or a vinyl polymer or copolymer and the tab 42 may be of polyester. The web 32 may be an open woven gauze, a scrim or a non- woven web.
