Abstract

1340402 Sieve-drum driers F SMITH & CO (WHITWORTH) Ltd 1 June 1972 [1 June 1971] 18229/71 Heading F4G Fabrics of differing widths are dried by contact with a rotating perforated drum 11 within which are disposed two spaced deflectors 17 axially movable to correspond to the fabric width, heated air being drawn through the fabric and drum by two (or one) fans 14 and returned via ducts 20 and a heater 19. The fans and heater may be remote from the drum. The deflectors 17 are movable by rotation of screwthreaded rods 21a by means of a hand-wheel 21c and chain and sprocket means 21d. A fixed deflector 22 divides the air streams. The drum 11 is supported and rotated by rollers 12.
