Abstract

1339821 Nitrogenous polymers HUGHES AIRCRAFT CO 12 March 1971 6713/71 Heading C3R [Also in Divisions H1 and B5] Cured nitrogenous polymers comprising the reaction product of a tetra-C 1-4 alkyl ester of 3,3<SP>1</SP>,4,4<SP>1</SP> - benzophenone tetracarboxylic acid with a tetra-amine where R<SP>1</SP> is a single bond, O, S, SO 2 , or CH 2 and the NH 2 groups on each ring are vicinal are used to bond polyimide films to electrical conductors (see Division H1). The reactants may first be reacted to form a soluble prepolymer of inherent viscosity about 0À05 (on 2À5 g./100 ml. dimethylformamide at 25‹ C.) and a solution thereof, e.g. in chloroform, benzene or dioxane, used to coat one surface of the polyimide film with subsequent curing by heat and pressure.
