Abstract
1339185 Change speed gears ARDIEWERK GmbH 12 Oct 1971 [12 Oct 1970] 47329/71 Addition to 1281106 Heading F2D A change speed gear and its control as in Specification 1,281,106 in which the gear-box cover is replaced by an assembly 7 including a base-plate 71 on which are releasably mounted the hydraulic jacks for changing ratio with their associated values and fluid sump and pressure source and may be an assembly 58 for braking and accelerating part of the bear-box to provide synchronism. Where the clutch is operated by an hydraulic jack this may be included in the assembly 7. The gear-box may comprise axially slidable dog clutches 18, 19 for forward ratios and an axially slidable pinion 20<SP>1</SP> for reverse ratios, the clutches 18, 19 and pinion 201 being slid axially by a single hydraulic jack 29 rotating a shaft 24, which selectively operates the clutches 18, 19 and pinion 20<SP>1</SP> by being moved axially by a second similar hydraulic jack 29<SP>1</SP>.
