Abstract

1339024 Fuel for gas turbines PROGIL 16 Nov 1970 [14 Nov 1969] 54513/70 Heading C5E The fuel burnt in a gas turbine is a heavy distillate boiling at 300‹ to 450‹ C., with 10% at about 380‹ C., 50% at about 400‹ C., 90% at about 410‹ C. and 95% at about 420‹ C., and is obtained by distillation at atmospheric or reduced pressure from a whole crude petroleum or a crude petroleum topped to 300‹ C. The turbine may be coupled to an electric alternator or other rotary machine to generate electricity, and waste heat may be recovered in a boiler or water-circulation exchanger.
