Abstract
1338869 Printing apparatus POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG KOMBINAT FUR POLYGRAPHSICHE MASCHINEN UND AUSRUSTUNGEN VEB 18 April 1972 17780/72 Heading B6C [Also in Division H2] A commutator assembly e.g. for supplying a high voltage to the top of an impression cylinder 4 while the bottom is held at earth potential comprises a commutator defining the end surface of an annular member 2 and a cup-shaped member 1 carrying at least two contact members 11 and 12. As shown, the cylinder 4 is carried on a shaft 3 on which the annular member 2 is held by pin 5. Grooves in the member 2 carry wires 7 to conductors (not shown) on the cylinder from the current collector members 6 which form a ring-shaped commutator face (see Fig. 3, not shown). The member 1 is loosely mounted on the shaft 3 and held against rotation with it by pin 21. Pin 27 and spring 26 resiliently urge the end of member 1 over the outer surface of the annular member thereby defining a cavity through which a gas may be passed by means of pipes 18 and 19.
