Abstract

1338328 Knitting machines WIRKMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB 3 Aug 1971 36433/71 Heading D1C A circular rib knitting machine has a pattern drum 1 and a stepping device therefor having a stepping wheel 12 with four pins 13 to 16 of which one is at any time drivable to turn the pattern wheel by one of a set of cam members 17 to 20 selectable by a control device while outside the stepping device two other pins are guided in a peripheral guide 21. The needles of a circular knitting machine are selected through associated jacks by slides co-operating with selector members with frangible butts carried in a pattern drum 1. Drum 1 is removably mounted between an exchangeable disc 6 and pins 3, 4 fixed in a gear 9 on a shaft 2, gear 9 being driven by a further gear 10 connected by shaft 11 to wheel 12. Any of cams 17-20 will turn the wheel one position and two cams e.g. 17 and 18 or 19 and 20 will turn it two positions. Opposite cams can not be used together.
