Abstract

1337913 Dyeing P.V.C. footwear VIKING- ASKIM AS 16 June 1971 23773/72 Heading D1B Footwear manufactured from a plasticized homopolymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride is dyed by applying to selected portions thereof a lacquer containing a dye in solution and which dye is soluble in the plasticizer employed. The plasticizer may be dioctylphthalate, diolecyl phthalate, di-isocotyl adipate, diolecyl adipate, dioctyl sebacate, dodecyl benzene or a paraffin wax. Acid and basic dyes may be employed, the preferred lacquer being 3% acrylic homopolymer, 3% polyvinylchloride copolymer and 94% methyl ethyl ketone. Copolymers of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate or vinylidene chloride may be used for the footwear.
