Cutting - apparatus. -Relates to cutting- appliances for dough &c., of the type comprising a tubular cutter and a spring- actuated stripping- plate, and consists in so arranging the stripping-plate that the material is not compressed thereby. Fig. 1 shows one form comprising a hollow frame b, serving as a receptacle for the cut pieces, furnished with interchangeable hollow cutters c working through a stripping-plate d' into which are screwed pins d<2> working through the frame b. Springs d interposed between the parts d<1>, b tend to force the cutters away from the plate d', the extent of this movement being limited by pins passed through the pins d<2>. To avoid compression of the material, the plate d<1> is furnished with feet e, or the pins d<2> may extend through the plate. The members b, d' are furnished with handles a<1>, d<3>. Fig. 5 shows a modification comprising a rigid frame consisting of slotted end members g<2> connected by pieces g, a cutter plate i and a stripping-plate i<1> passing through the slotted end members, pins j<1> adjustably connected by nuts j<2> to the plate i<1> and passing through holes in the plate i, and springs l encircling the pins j<1> and interposed between the plates i, i<1>. The cutters k may be additionally supported by a plate i<2> supported from the plate i by studs i<3>.
