Abstract
1337550 Urine receptacles PETER STEER DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 19 April 1971 [5 Feb 1970] 5484/70 Heading A4N [Also in Divisions A5 and B8] A container for measuring the volume of liquid extracted from an animal comprises two opposed walls 1 of flexible transparent or translucent plastics material, an inlet 10 provided with a non- return valve, and an outlet 11, the inlet being connected or adapted to be connected to flexible tubing, a weld 3 between the two walls 1 extending from the lower edge 2 to a point 6 spaced from the upper edge to divide the container into smaller and larger compartments 5, 4, the point 6 defining a weir whereby liquid may flow between the compartments and volumetric graduations being provided whereby the volume of liquid in at least one of the compartments may be measured. The graduations may be printed on the walls of the container or on a strip 9 enclosed within a sleeve or pocket 8 on the inside or outside of one of the walls. Alternatively, Fig.2 (not shown), one edge of such a pocket (14) can constitute the division between the compartments, and the weir (15) formed by the top end of the pocket can be shaped to facilitate the transfer of liquid from compartment 5 to compartment 4. A rigid graduated cylinder may be provided in the smaller compartment.
