Abstract

1382014 Body fluid collection unit KENDALL CO 1 June 1973 26244/73 Heading A5R A liquid collection unit, particularly for urine, comprises a bag 10 having flexible side walls, a rigid upper support member 22 positioned between and sealed to the top edges 24 of the bag and having a drip chamber 46 extending therethrough with an inlet 48 and an outlet 50 for passage of liquid into the bag, and a rigid lower support member 16 sealed to the bottom edge 26 of the bag. The member 22 has a central tubular portion accommodating the drip chamber and narrower wing portions having apertures 40 providing for suspension of the unit. A liquid conducting tube 32 extends into the drip chamber so as to be spaced from the walls thereof. The lower support member 16 may have a drainage chamber 18 with outlet 20. A vent 30 is provided in either or both side walls of the bag.
