Abstract

1337119 Manganese-ore colouring agent KONINKLIJKE ZWAVELZUURFABRIEKEN 27 Nov 1970 [22 Dec 1969] 56492/70 Heading C1A Powdered manganese ore is formed into a mixture with water and formed into discrete, coherent, masses which can be used as a colouring agent for clay. The mixture may also contain a clay mineral as a binder or diluent optionally together with an organic binder and/or diluent. The total content of binder or diluent in the mixture is preferably up to 10%, based on the weight of powdered ore in the case of binders and the amount of water in the mixture is preferably 1-40% w.r.t. the weight of powdered ore. The preferred organic binder is carboxymethyl cellulose. Also claimed are ceramic articles containing said colouring agent and processes for the production of said articles.
