Abstract
Bricks are made by shaping and firing a clay mix containing an additive comprising ammonia, ammonium bicarbonate or ammonium nitrate, singly or in combination with each other or with ammonium sulphate, chloride or phosphate. Preferably 0,001 to 1 per cent. of ammonia or its bicarbonate is used together with 0,005 to 2 per cent. of the nitrate, sulphate, chloride or phosphate.
