Abstract

1337007 Rotary pumps DANFOSS A/S 17 Nov 1970 [17 Nov 1969] 54654/70 Heading F1F The suction inlet to a fuel-oil pump comprising n, n+1 externally and internally toothed wheels 1, 2, is through at least two, (three shown) passages 20, 21, 22 extending radially inwards from a suction space 17, through a filter 16 and feeding tangentially a common arcuate suction passage 19 forming an ante-chamber, overlying the pump inlet 11 and the cross-section of the passages is so dimensioned that the liquid is not decelerated in the passages, thereby avoiding cavitation. Air entrainment is also avoided since the outer end of at least one passage is always submerged in liquid. Pressure oscillations are damped by an air-filled chamber 18 bounded by the cover 13 and a rubber diaphragm 15. (For Figures see next page)
