Abstract

1336768 Variable-focus objectives L BERTELE AND J BERTELE 19 April 1971 [25 March 1970] 25305/71 Heading G2S A variable-focus objective has six lenses, the first L 1 , being a dispersing meniscus convex towards the second L 2 ; the second being movable to vary the focal length, and being biconvex, the first and second together always having collective power; the third L 3 being collective and the face r 5 being more strongly curved than r 6 ; the fourth L 4 being collective, radius r 7 being convex towards L 3 and of smaller curvature than each glass-air interface of the preceding three lenses; the fifth L 5 being dispersive and faced the less strongly curved surface r 11 of biconvex sixth lens L 6 the second lens being displaceable by 0À55 - 1 times the focal length of this lens. Optical data are given for three examples. The lenses may include a cemented surface.
