Abstract

1336762 Electrographic stylus XEROX CORP 19 April 1971 [25 Feb 1970 (2)] 22493/71 Heading G2H In an electrostatographic printing stylus comprising a plurality of conductors insulated from one another, the writing edge comprises wear resistant material, eg alumina or tungsten carbide. The conductors may be etched or printed on the substrate, which may be plastics or ceramic. As shown, the conductors are sandwiched between a plastics substrate 3 and a plastics coating 4' and a ceramic Chip 2 is cemented to the opposite side of the substrate at the writing edge. Deposition of charge and development may take place simultaneously using a developer application brush 40. The leading edge of the stylus may have a bulbous shield portion (43), Fig.7, (not shown).
